Above is the gadget produced for Move B of Interactive Design Media. It features the museum exhibits of Paul Herron, Kate Amann, Aikaterini Antonopoulou, Apple Zhang, Yiingjie Gao and Tom Wuyts.
The interface represents a 3D hologram viewer of the type that might be available to the museum in 2020. It gives control over the rotation, X, Y and Z positions of the selected hologram.
The 3D holograms were rendered as SWFs using Maya's vector renderer. Because the clips are vector-based, the gadget can show them at any size without pixellation, and the file sizes are fairly small. Transparency is also supported.
Sounds were synthesised using Sony Sound Forge and various effects.
